G3 Canada Ltd. Grain Terminal
Now sprouting up at the Port: a new grain terminal, operated by G3Canada Ltd., located on Eastport Drive at Pier 26. The new terminal is a $50 million development which will give Ontario farmers more choice in exporting their grain to global markets. Construction of the new terminal has already started, and is expected to be complete in time for the 2017 harvest season.
“G3 is excited to announce this major investment at the Port of Hamilton as part of our vision to create a coast-to-coast Canadian grain enterprise,” said Karl Gerrand, CEO, G3 Canada Ltd. “Grain exports have been increasing for some time now. We look forward to expanding our relationship with farmers in the province, and will work hard to establish G3 as the partner of choice in marketing their grain.”
The 50,000 MT facility will be capable of discharging a 40-tonne Super-B truck in under five minutes. Grains and oilseeds will then be loaded on to vessels for transport to G3’s facilities on the St. Lawrence River. From there, they will be shipped onwards to export markets around the world.
