Hamilton, ON – Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA) has been recognized as one of Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Employers for 2023. This is the second consecutive year HOPA has been selected as part of an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
The distinction recognizes HOPA’s commitment to leadership in the marine industry; offering port and marine assets in Hamilton, Niagara and Oshawa, while developing multimodal spaces to support industries and facilitate trade.
“We are investing in high quality infrastructure and prioritizing sustainability,” says Ian Hamilton, HOPA President and Chief Executive Officer. “Together we proudly manage Ontario’s largest and most successful port network. It is our mission to be a leader in building prosperous working waterfronts, led by our in-house team.”
Guided by its core values of respect and inclusivity, innovation and productivity, HOPA was also selected for its commitment to engaging and empowering its employees.
“Our people are our strongest asset,” says Hamilton. “We strive to provide a safe, collaborative and positive work environment. Ensuring our teams feel supported and are motivated to continually learn, enriches their lives and our organization.”
Employers were evaluated by the editors using the same eight criteria as the National competition and compared to other organizations in a similar field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
